So what's in store for me in 2021? Honestly, I don't know. I had everything planned out for 2020 and I really don't have to tell you how it all ended.
Where do I even start from? 2020 was going to be my year. The year where I'm finally visiting places I've been putting on back burner for years. It's also the year that I was finally launching "Jummy's Closet" - My Online Clothing Boutique. So much preparations, thoughts, and energy went into the first few months of the year, and then COVID reared its ugly head.
Just like most people, I thought the virus would be contained in about a month or so, but here we are 7 months later still trying to figure out how to keep it under control.
I would be lying to you if I tell you that I'm not mentally and emotionally drained, but what has really helped me personally was exercising and focusing on Jummy's Closet.
It's been proven that regular exercise can have a profound positive impact on mental health. It promotes all kinds of changes in the brain and most importantly, serves as a distraction, allowing you to find some quiet time to break out of the cycle of negative thoughts that can lead to depression.
As most of you know, I've been documenting my fitness journey for about four years now. I constantly get text messages from people trying to find out exactly what I'm doing to manage my weight, and how I've been able to keep it off. So in July, 2020, I decided to start a fitness page called "Fit + Girl" with the aim of helping people stay healthy and lose weight.
Fit + Girl is the support system needed that will guide you through your weight loss / fitness journey. On this page, you will find out information on different weight loss plans that are out there such as Carb Cycling, Intermittent Fasting, and Keto Diet. I also have monthly challenges to keep followers engaged.

We all know that exercising and eating healthy goes hand in hand. That is why meal prepping is also a big factor in losing weight. You can exercise all day and night, but if your diet is off track, then you're just wasting your time.
So meal prepping has been part of my lifestyle this year. It has definitely saved me time and energy, but most importantly, money.
To keep your prepped meal fresh and safe, it's advisable to keep them frozen for days to weeks depending on how often you meal prep.
I am super proud of how far I've come with Fit + Girl in such a short period. It has tons of information that you'll definitely benefit from, and it's absolutely free.
Another great accomplishment for me in 2020 was the rebranding of my business. When Jummy's Closet was first introduced in October of 2018, it was more about customized tees, but now it has evolved into much more. We've added "Ready To Wear" African Attires & Accessories; and even catered to clients that chose to customize their unique look and embrace their own style.
2020 has actually been good to me business wise, and I have God and my amazing family to thank for it. I was also able to connect with amazing and business minded people. They've helped me tremendously in my business and for that, I am forever grateful.
While 2020 has been great for me health and business wise, I also recognize that some are having difficulties coping with everything going on this year, and how devastating things are. So I've taken it upon myself to be mindful and sensitive to people around me.
So what has 2020 taught me? This year has taught me to love and appreciate those around me; to not take life for granted, and to live everyday to the fullest. I've also learned the importance of taking care of myself so that I can perform at my highest level, day after day.
I'm not sure what's in store for me in 2021, but I pray that it's better than 2020. I pray that we all come out stronger than we've ever been.
We only have few more days before the new year, so my challenge to everyone is to evaluate their circle and leave all baggage behind.
I'll leave you with the quote below. Happy 2021 Family and Friends. Stay safe and be blessed.
